Every year, thousands of Student Ambassadors travel the world promoting "peace through understanding," the mission set forth by People to People founder President Dwight D. Eisenhower. You'll find just a few of their fascinating stories here in the latest Ambassador Journal.
Becoming a Student Ambassador
Once a student is nominated, what happens next? Not all nominated students become Student Ambassadors. Beginning in August and continuing throughout the fall, People to People invites a number of students, including those nominated through this website, to apply to become Student Ambassadors.
All nominees receive a mailed invitation to attend a local information meeting with a parent or guardian to learn about the local delegation and application process. At the meeting, students and their families meet local alumni and leaders, learn tuition details, and hear specifics about the program’s itinerary.
People to People International was founded by President Eisenhower in 1956 as a way to bring the people of the world closer together.
Today, People to People Student Ambassadors travel around the world each summer, enjoying rewarding educational travel experiences and exciting, unforgettable adventures.
Student Ambassadors are exceptional individuals who are intrigued by other places, cultures and ways of life.
Whether they're sipping traditional tea in Tokyo, talking with a member of Parliament in London or sailing with local students in Fiji, Student Ambassadors enjoy experiences that let them see the world from a different point of view.
